A Court Of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

I CAN'T REALLY WRITE MUCH ABOUT THIS BOOK OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT I NOW OWN A NIGHT COURT MUG, KEY CHAIN, AND A PENDANT.

And yes, along with "The Wicked Deep," this was the second book I read in 2021 that made me cry. I cannot possibly use any words to describe the psychological overload and the emotional attachment I felt for this book while reading it. I ached for Feyre, Rhysand, and the rest of the heroes (apart from SOME, CAN'T REALLY SPOIL THINGS NOW, CAN I), and chapters 52 to 56 were.....

Sarah J Maas is a master of reader manipulation and exquisite writing and plot development and if you still haven't read the series, DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR and go read them!

The plot is so much more than what it was in ACOTAR and I got the sense that the first book was really the set-up for the second one! Even after reading this book almost ten days ago, I still remember fondly my excitement while turning page after page. Feyre's character arc is GOALS FOR ALL WRITERS OUT THERE and I aim at studying Maas's formula in depth!

This is certainly a must-read and a reread!
