This is why I try to stay away from male authors (half kidding). But for real, dude loves to yap. This nearly put me into a reading slump. It has a cool concept that is very VERY similar to Hereditary but is also nothing like it unfortunately.  It was so unnecessarily long-winded. So slow-burn that I didn’t care about the climax. I will probably never read a slow burn horror book again because of this.
