Yoga After 50 For Dummies by Larry Payne

5.0

Exactly what the title promises. This book tells what poses are good for and how to do them complete with alternatives when the pose is too hard for our particular body. I love how the author emphasizes care and that benefit can be had without doing a pose "perfectly." There are 3 suggested 5-minute workouts which I found good for starting to learn some poses. Then 3 15-minute sessions which include what is in a 5-minute session and then add some on. There are also 30-minute sessions which looked like too much for me with the added poses included in them.

I liked the way the instructions have built-in warm ups of most poses before holding the pose. I also found that the order the poses are given really does slowly limber me up as I progress through them.

I found I could quickly get started doing a 5-minute session after reading the first couple of chapters. I then continued reading to get more information. There is a lot of good info besides just the basic poses.
