Scenes from the Holidays by K.D. Edwards
5.0
A lovely, lovely, lovely companion piece to the Tarot Sequence novels, set between books two and three. The characters, even 6-year-old Corbie, are used to such good effect. Found family and the forging of ties between people are all through this.
About my reviews: I try to review every book I read, including those that I don't end up enjoying. The reviews are not scholarly, but just indicate my reaction as a reader, reading being my addiction. I am miserly with 5-star reviews; 4 stars means I liked a book very much; 3 stars means I liked it; 2 stars means I didn't like it (though often the 2-star books are very popular with other readers and/or are by authors whose other work I've loved).

I particularly loved the guests that Corbie had invited appearing at the dinosaur's birthday party: people who cared about Corbie and had no other plans for Equinox Night, and how they were welcomed in. The ocean roc thread was also particularly fine.About my reviews: I try to review every book I read, including those that I don't end up enjoying.
