This was an enjoyable read but I would have liked it more if it was written a little differently.

This is the story of 5 neighbors who create a book club. The story, along with their book club and friendship, spans 30 years. It starts and ends in the "present" but in between it spans from roughly 1960s-1990s. We learn about various things that happen to the main characters prior to and during this times. Life changing moments, divorce, death, birth, happiness, sadness......

There are three things I did not like about this book: Point of View, Span of Time, The Ending
The POV and Span of Time made it difficult to really remain connected to the characters.

POINT OF VIEW: changes from chapter to chapter. The book starts from Faith's point of view a chapter or two later the POV become omniscient and then a few chapters later it is a different housewives view. Now I have read other books that have done this and enjoyed it but I did not like they was this one was done. It took me awhile to make the adjustment each time it happened and always forgot through who's eyes I was seeing.

SPAN OF TIME: It almost seemed too long, just when I was getting into the sequence of events the chapter would end leaving me hanging. The next chapter would jump months or years ahead and the results of what was happening in the previous chapter may be mentioned almost as a passing note or not mention until a few chapters later. There was a lot of events, big and small fit into this story and most were treated as minor details in the characters lives. I would have prefered focusing on a few of the events thus shortening the time span and tightening the focus. Also all these women had children and the jumps in time made it very difficult to keep track of how old, roughly, everyone should be.

THE ENDING: I won't give it away but I will say this, the ending seem ubrupt and lacking.
