The Beautiful Room Is Empty by Edmund White

3.0

I wanted to like this so much more than I did. The writing was still beautiful, and it was a lot more coherent than the first book, but I just wasn't thrilled. I think a lot of the problem is that I didn't like him, didn't really empathize with him, and then just got bored with him. I'm sad that I didn't get more out of it.
