Red Dragon
by Thomas Harris
Molly killing Francis was VISCERAL. Alas that it was in the latter half of the book.
Loved how I really felt the tragedy of it all though when Molly and Willy were giving Will dirty looks at the end. Like, it felt like they were doing it to ME. And I was like, it’s not my fault I SOLVED A MURDER!? MULTIPLE murders to be exact.
And one thing, I will say, this book has over the Hannibal TV show (w/c is the only adaptation of this book I have watched and I love it dearly) is that I finally understand why Francis ate that goddamn painting! Like, I guess if I were a smarter viewer, I would‘ve gotten it but, let me just say, when I read that part, I realized my understanding of the same part in the show was not that. So… thank you, book, for enlightening me.
Oh, and also you wouldn’t think the most popular character to come out of this would be Hannibal if you only read this book because, girl, he’s barely in it. And he serves more like a plot point or for more thematic purposes.
