Where do I even start with this one… it had so much potential and failed so miserably. The sole reason this is even getting a star is due to the plot. It was quite a fun basis and the ending was spectacular. BUT everything else felt like a brick wall to finishing this. The writing was by far the most horrendous part of it. Not only were sentences short and choppy, but the characters were so flat and boring. If it weren’t for the chapter headings, I’d have no idea who the perspective was coming from. Also if I saw the word “gods” one more time, I probably would’ve ended up needing a new Kindle. On top of the dissatisfactory writing, the author could not seem to understand the balance of fantasy and contemporary writing. If we are put into a world with lush magical, living houses and walking or carriages for transportation, please enlighten me on how dirt bike races and sports bras play a key role here. Honestly, I would trust a 14-year-old on Wattpad more with this plot, their writing would probably be far better :/
