Baby & the Late Night Howlers by Kathryn Moon

4.0

The pack was too large, but the story was great!

I really enjoyed the story from the beginning! The thing is, there were A LOT of guys in this book. The pack was very large. She doesn’t bond with everyone, but it felt like there were even more people than there were due to the fact that the guys had their real names and their club names. They also had unique scents that they were frequently referred to by. So the same man would be referred to by two names and a scent in a single scene. And often in those scenes there were multiple men referred to with multiple names or scents.

The fact that there were so many men meant that there were SO MANY steam scenes. I’m not gonna lie - I skimmed. A lot. It was frankly too much.

So, if there were too many men and I did a lot of skimming, why do I give this book four stars? Because it’s well written. It’s a great introduction to the omegaverse for those who want one. It helped me understand almost all of the expectations of the genre. It also remains very contemporary within the understood alternative almost PNR-like nature of the omegaverse. The steam is well written and hot. And even though I could not figure out everyone’s names I knew what was going on in each scene, which is a skill.

Also….I want a nest of my own. The one in Bullet’s mansion would work for me.

Overall, four stars, four chili peppers. Recommend.
