Cleopatra and Frankenstein by Coco Mellors

4.0

TW in the book - depression, suicide

A story about two broken people in hasty a marriage just trying to love each other in their own way.
With an age gap of 20 years, Cleo and Frank's story started with a cute meetup and bam! In six months they both get married.

It was a slow read for me but I still loved it.
I loved Cleo and related with her on so many things.
I wanted to hate Frank and I did in some parts but later I realised Frank did love Cleo but was also broken in his own way.
I read somewhere people raised on love and people raised on survival differ in many ways.
Frank and Cleo come in the latter part. They both tried to find support and care from each other when both were broken in their own way.

I liked how the author gave each side character their own story for us to understand them better. My fav side character was Eleanor. She was just amazing. Personally, I didn't like Quentin and Anders deserved that bucket of water thrown at him.

Even though Cleo and Frank, both get their happy ending, I still wanted them to give each other another chance, even though I knew it would still have ended in the same way.
But still, I am happy that Frank got someone who was raised on love and I hope Cleo finds someone like that too because she deserves it more than anything.

Overall It is a story about sisterhood, friendships, relationships, love, chaos, surviving in the real world and finding happiness.

Coco mellors writing is phenomenal and I fell in love with it more than the plot maybe. The way she has with words is just
