Hidden Girl: The True Story of a Modern-Day Child Slave by Shyima Hall

5.0

Shyima Hall born in Egypt and raised into a family in which she is the seventh child. Her family is very poor and uses the children to help with their financial issues. In Shyima's case, she is sold into slavery, at age eight, to a wealthy family to work 18/7. Two years later, This family moves to America and illegally takes Shyima with them. Two more years pass and she is saved. In the second half Shyima attempts to become an American citizen and fights to end all slavery.
It is my first Memoir this year and I am not dissapointed. This is a story of an girl who awful things happened to and she made something great out of it. Not many could do the same. Shyima is an inspiration.
