The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

dark reflective medium-paced
  • Strong character development? It's complicated
  • Diverse cast of characters? It's complicated

Re-reading this book gave it a whole new meaning. I picked up on things I never would when I was younger and those things were HEAVY. Also, re-reading made me realize just how much the movie lacked especially in regards to the Avoxes, the twisted psychology behind some of the things the gamemakers developed, and of course Katniss's relationships with Rue, Peeta, and Gale. Would have loved to see less emphasis on the "romance/love-triangle" of it all, but it's YA so it's expected I guess. overall good read and GREAT re-read. Lots of dots to connect between this book and the current state of the world.
