Anne of Green Gables is most certainly the most charming bildungsroman you'll ever read, but is also: (1) a call to female empowerment beyond suffrage; (2) a call to re-enchantment; (3) a call to panentheistic spirituality over stale Reformed religion.

Me and Anne (and Montgomery) are kindred spirits indeed.
