I could not finish this book. The biggest issue for me was the lack of world building. The premise sounded promising, but the execution felt thin. The story jumped through time without grounding the reader in a clear world or context, leaving the focus almost entirely on internal struggle. That might work if the inner conflicts were layered or compelling, but here they felt repetitive and stagnant.

It reminded me of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue too much, which had a similar structure of drifting through time with little happening outside the character’s private turmoil. In both cases, the absence of a developed setting or broader story made the reading experience flat.

I wanted depth, atmosphere, and some sense of place or consequence. Instead, it felt like the narrative hovered in a void. The book didn’t stand out to me, and I lost interest before the end.
