Cujo by Stephen King

4 stars!!
i expected to hate this because i didn't find carrie that great but this actually scared me so much and made me tense and worried throughout. the characters were fully fleshed out and had their own personality and i found the non-horror elements done well such as marital issues, job-related problems, feminist issues. although sometimes i dislike the way Stephen king writes about women this one was less cringey and uncomfortable. also there were a lot of themes and ideas that could be analysed and commented upon and im really glad i read this cause now i want to read more stephen king. a few minor problems with this was the length, i don't think it needed to be how long it is but regardless i really liked it and flew through it as i couldn't stop turning the pages. another thing i dislike is that there aren't any chapter breaks but that's just a structural and formatting preference for me - i think it works for the content so not that mad about it. tbh i didn't think id be that scared but honestly i was so afraid possibly cause being trapped in a small space is one of my worst nightmares, add a rabid dog to the equation and that becomes terrifying. would definitely recommend this to others.
