The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

5.0

10/10

There’s so much to gush about so I guess I’ll try to summarise: Blue is 1) so badass and confident in herself 2) reminds me of me in the sense that my friends are mostly guys 3) has this strong backbone to her personality and is proud of her family which I think is really powerful message, the writing style allowed me to really be in the moment and visualise every step with them, all the boys have such differing personalities but all come together to create an interesting range of characters, the plot is unique and I don’t think I’ve come across something similar before, the historical references which I learnt heaps from, and lastly I really liked how sometimes I would get a little irritated at a characters quirks because it shows how absorbed I am but also how realistic they are. Overall, awesome read and I couldn’t put it down. Thanks to everyone who recommended!
