I kind of expected this to be way more mystery- or horror-focused but instead this was a strong coming-of-age-novel with some mystery and speculative elements. Still, I enjoyed reading this, as Devon and also the side characters were likable and relatable. King showed again his knack for making me feel nostalgic for a time I never experienced myself - while reading I felt like I was working alongside Devon in this run-down amusement park. The pacing was even, the plot was concise and never overstayed its welcome. Myers narration brought this ghostly 70s’ summer convincingly back to life.
