Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea
by Jules Verne
I read The Great Illustrated Classic [b:20,000 Leagues Under the Sea|5069265|20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (Great Illustrated Classics)|Malvina G. For an adventure novel, there is very little adventure other than the adventure of being on the Nautilus, a submarine. I do understand how this story was an extreme concept at the time, much like Mars and space science fiction novels now.
I enjoyed reading the classic and was surprised to learn that more Captain Nemo stories exist. I do plan on reading those because I am interested in his story.
