A Good Man Is Hard to Find and Other Stories by Flannery O'Connor

I know why her work has been historically praised, but I also think it’s okay to say “we’ve progressed past this as a society,” and in part that’s because I don’t think this collection offers anything necessary historically, academically, sociologically, etc. but the bigger part is that the language she uses, while maybe not as offensive at the time she wrote it, is terribly offensive now, and I don’t think these stories say anything so essential as to justify exposure to the language and continued praise of the stories.
