Courtney Crumrin and the Night Things by Ted Naifeh

5.0

As a 13 year old I fell in love with the world of the Night Things and related to the incorrigible Courtney in so many ways. Ten years ago I gobbled up this series and loved every minute of the morose mysteries. It was perfect for a little girl in that stage of life that feels just as, if not more horrifying than coming arcoss a hungry goblin.

As a 23 year old this came back onto my radar; and not only managed to remain as engaging as it was for my younger self, but Courtney's blunt observations of the lives and deaths she encounters have become even more relatable.

Mr. Naifeh has not only written a delightful day-mare for tweens and teens. This series has become timeless and a joy for adults with a taste for the darkly fantastic.
