Relentless in a Kilt by Anna Durand

'What lies beneath a Scotsman's kilt? Relentless in a Kilt will answer that and give you a whole lot more to think about, talk over and that will leave you simply hungry for more Hot Scots! Anna Durand keeps getting better and better with every novel, and Relentless in a Kilt is up there in my top Anna Durand reads!'

Anna Durand has quickly become one of my must-read, go-to authors after first discovering her with 'Devastating in a Kilt (Hot Scots #9)' in the March this time last year, earning a very respectable four stars as a result of an impressive fist read. After my review on that novel, I feel as if my comments were heard and since then with each subsequent read both in and out of this series, it's been a series of five star ratings and I don't intend to give Relentless in a Kilt anything less than that, happily continuing on with that flawless and coveted rating.
When an author says 'this is my hottest/steamiest book to date' take note, because they one-hundred percent mean it. Anna has produced a series of Hot Scots--hence the series name--and Magus, be still my beating heart, kicks that hotness level up to a whole new notch. Beast by name beast by nature, Magnus MacTaggart delivers such an unforgettable performance in this read that rivals my favourite Anna Durand leading man, Rory MacTaggart. Rory has been in the forefront of my mind since Rory in a Kilt, but Magus...woah! Here's a man who will leave an equally unforgettable impression for a very long time. I think I've even found my next book boyfriend and as a collector of many a bookish man, that's saying a lot. Correction, I've not found my next book boyfriend, Magnus MacTaggart is book husband material. There' I've said it, and I don't regret it!
Stepping away from the usual surroundings of Scotland for the most part, Relentless in a Kilt delivers an on-going, action-packed, drama-filled story that lacks nothing in the way of endless adventure and a pace matching its leading man, relentless and has stamina on top of stamina. I was surprised that the majority of this read takes place outside of the familiar surroundings set by the other Hot Scot novels that I've read, but the storyline very much befits both Magnus and Piper and their personalities. Always on the go, never settling in one place, and one hell of an explosion when the two of them set aside the world and their own personal beliefs, to live in the moment and think about the consequences and everything else later.
Oh, and they're not alone. As nutty as he is unique, watch out for Errol. Most of us will think of the Weasley's owl from Harry Potter and perhaps that's the best way to describe him. Clumsy, a bit of a bohemian and bedraggled figure, Errol won me over for his, well, his everything. I'm so glad his book is next, I cannot wait for Incendiary in a Kilt!
Strap in for a wild ride in Relentless in a Kilt, the eleventh book in the bestselling Hot Scots series of contemporary romances. Coming soon in audio narrated by Shane East & Emma Wilder.
Read that again, because you'll need to do it! As prepared as I was for another knockout read that is one thousand percent as bookcase-worthy as all the other Anna Durand books I've had the pleasure of reading, I wasn't prepared for how knock-your-socks off it was. There are very few books I would deem worthy to go back and read again, not because they're not worthy but because as a reader there is very little precious time to, but this is one of those exceptions and times where I absolutely must re-read it until I have to force myself to move on to something else. Anna has written another book which I am proud to say has made my growing (but not huge) list of top reads of 2022, and it's all thanks to Magnus and Piper, and the compelling story written for them.
Five stats to Magnus, Piper and to the incomparable talent that is Anna Durand!
