By the time I was 40% into this book, I knew I was going to go into withdrawn after I finished it. There's so much left untold between Aurelia and the three men she knows are her mates. They think she's a spoiled brat who for some unknown reason rejected them. She learns about something they did, something that's unforgivable to her. They have no reason to trust each other, but as you're reading, you kind of wish somehow they'd just talk and realize what's actually going on. Aurelia has too much to lose, however, so it makes sense that she can't tell anyone her secrets.

Often, I felt bad for Aurelia. She's stuck between a rock and a hard place, and then she learns she's even more stuck than she thought. Thank goodness she makes friends in the book, but for a while, despite that, she feels alone due to her secrets,  and she kind of is. Even so, more people end up helping her even without knowing what's going on, exactly, and you can't help but cheer her on for any chance to stand up for herself or to rebel that she can take. She definitely doesn't take stuff laying down, and I love the fire she has and her snark!

By the end of the book, it becomes a bit darker. I admit, a tear or two was shed in the last chunk of it. A few people know at least a part of who she really is, and when her father comes to take her away, it's officially revealed to readers (and those present at the time in the book) when she executes her plan of escape. We're left on a bit of a cliffhanger for the next book.

I can't wait until the next one is out!

(I received a free ARC of this book, and am voluntarily leaving my own review of it!)
