One of the most mature entries in the series, and the most noir of the four. It gets dark very fast and doesn’t stop, so I can excuse some of the contrivances

(the bag having a second secret compartment made me throw my hands up).

Still, it caps ATWQ off perfectly. Absolutely matches the pace of a speeding train.

ATWQ is a great noir series, not the best mystery series, but entertaining through and through. Left me with a big heartache.
