Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover

5.0

How is it that every CoHo book that I read, I end up devouring it in 24 hours or less? This was no different. I preordered this as soon as I found out it was coming out.

To say I cried multiple times while reading this would not be an exaggeration. The tears happened 5x minimum.

The unthinkable happens one night to Kenna Rowan. An inconceivable, tragic mistake that changes the course of her life, along with the lives of many others; the people who will spend the next 5 years hating her. But hate is a perfectly reasonable emotion to have after the tragic accident that cost Scotty his life.

5 years pasa and Kenna is released from prison and heads back to the town where the dreadful event happened.

Kenna’s first night, fate brings her to Ledger. Little do they know, their chance meeting will change their lives. AGAIN

Ledger was Scotty’s BFF that Kenna never got the chance to meet.

How will this change their magnetic attraction to each other? Not only that, how can things turn out when Kenna realizes Ledger plays an active role in her 4yr old daughters life?

The raw pain that Kenna feels throughout the book is heartbreaking. Colleen does an excellent job at making us feel compassion and empathy towards everyone involved. Kenna’s letters to Scotty, even 5 years later, give us a clearer picture of that dreadful night and might just help give forgiveness to everyone involved

I loved this book. As a mother, I couldn’t imagine losing a child, especially the way Scotty’s parent lost him. I think that’s why o got so emotional many times while reading this book. Be prepared to have your heart ripped out by the end.
