Aquaman, Volume 1: The Trench by Geoff Johns

3.0

This was a good introduction to Aquaman for me. The premise is that Aquaman gave up the position as king of Atlantis to protect humans from threats from the sea. I liked that the people he wants to protect have no respect or understanding of him. Feels like a good place to start with a new series when everything I've heard makes him seem like a joke. This might have been a little overdone though.

Part 1 introduces Aquaman and begins to hint at the creatures featured on the cover. I don't think they developed meaningfully, but they are a tool to bring in other antagonists. There is a bit of background on the hero too. The series has room to develop and could be quite good.
