Tempest Runner
by Cavan Scott
I generally only dabble into the Star Wars novels. I tend to skip the short stories, comics, and audio dramas— and well, 90% of the Star Wars novels that are out there as well. There is simply too much media to consume in this series. But here I thought that I would give the full cast audio a shot and see how it goes. I regret to say that I made a mistake. This was not good. It wasn't bad either. It was simply okay. But with the audio only format I found that I really missed the narration portion describing the action and setting. I also found that the dialogue really bothered me. Without the other distractions to build the scene, the dialogue stood out as particularly bland and cliche. The jokes largely did not work for me and our main character was not incredibly interesting. Getting back story on the Nihil and Lourna Dee sounds so cool at first but really, it ended up not reaching the levels of hype I had built up for it. Tempest Runner would be a skip for me if I went back and told my past self what it was like.
