Pericles by William Shakespeare

4.0

Hmmmmm Pericles. I wasn’t looking forward to this one because I had read so much damning it. It has sections written by another author and certainly it feels like two stories joined together.
But at a certain point in my reading I found myself completely drawn into the story. There are storms, tempests, plottings for a murder most foul, dreadful losses and miraculous findings and a toe curling clever escape.
Despite my initial scepticism, I ended up liking this play. Onwards to Coriolanus which I think I will like.
