The Ashes & the Star-Cursed King by Carissa Broadbent

Rating: 4 of 5 ⭐️

I could talk about a lot of positive things (Vincent the biggest one) but since i gave it a high rating, I will pinpoint only [some of] the negatives in my perspective:

• I wish there was ‘more’ (I mean, actually some) revenge of Oraya for her father’s death... and no, I don't think what ‘she did’ was enough for god’s sake, HE WAS YOUR FATHER THAT YOU LOVED AND WAS LOVED BACK, and just because you discover he had flaws (wow right?!) you just think his death was somehow justified?!? Wtf

• Raihn’s history... We never get into that clearly, especially since we have his POV in this second book, I wish we could actually SEE things... Also, his son/daughter, it bothered me that he never tried to catch up, even if not with his kid itself but his greatkids yk... And Nessanyn, I still don't know what to think about it because, again, we never saw it properly on scene (or in flashback). So overall I found it extremely lacking for the purpose of get the reader to empathize to Raihn.

• I found Oraya’s family history... Disappoint. It's just me and my opinion I guess but I wish it was MORE, what more?! Idk but yeah.

Overall that's my negative opinion: lack of Oraya’s revenge + lack of Raihn’s past.

Not something about the book itself but actually a doubt: it is a duology or what? In the end of the book there’s a note suggests that in was the end of oraya and raihn’s story... if that is it: I don't like it at all
