Hannah, out main character will do anything to figure out what happened to her cousin Sophie who died of an overdose. Our narrator is witty and self assured but also drowning in grief and making questionable decisions that she continues to justify to herself.

This book deals with a lot of hard topics with shrewd observation and compassion.

While I sometimes got lost going back and forth between the two parallel years, I was ultimately satisfied with the way the story concluded.
