nicnevin 's review for:
Branding Her 1: Beginnings & Holidays
by Alex B. Porter
Risque fluff
It is a very straightforward sort of review for a relatively straightforward book. Books since the one book is packaged with two stories.
The stories seem to be constructed as: plot chunk - sex scene - plot chunk - sex scene. In terms of the plot, it's okay. The billionaire and the sexy down on her luck is a trope that I think is broadly overused but there is a unique aspect that the main character has a kid.
Overall, it's fantasy fuel and as far as that goes, it's doing pretty good. However, I just wish that the plot beyond the bedroom felt more real, was slower or had more conflict. Alex is cool and all but she oversteps boundaries on finances a lot which you would have thought would have been a bigger deal. Still, I'll be checking out the others to see how the story goes.
