I’m glad I didn’t read this book when I was a teen. I am now a grown adult who is also a therapist, and I really see the value of this book.
There are definitely some problematic things (racism included), but I think it’s a valid take on mental illness. It’s a good insight to the problems women encountered at the time, and it’s a good look into how mental illnesses can develop.
