The Crystal Keepers by J.M. Arlen
Did not finish book. Stopped at 4%.
Unedited and derivative.
I accessed the book through Kindle Unlimited and having read the first 20 pages I wish I’d stopped at 10. It felt like the author published the zero draft you scribble down to get the story on paper before you think about things like sentence structure, repetition, and whether or not you’re trying to mimic other people’s style rather than finding your own. It needed a good editor and a health dose of self-reflection, not necessarily in that order. I will not be finishing this book, nor will I read anything else by this author.
