The Elephant Keepers' Children by Peter Høeg

5.0

This novel is like a Wes Anderson movie in print. I absolutely enjoyed this book and wanted to steal it from the library. It is constantly witty and achieves the delicate balance of being simultaneously humorous and profound (as in, using it as a sermon illustration profound). I am particularly impressed by the translation and how many puns and nuances of language carry over.
