This is an essential book for Pratchett scholars and completionists. Casual Discworld fans are more likely to be disappointed than enthralled. This collection gathers short stories Terry wrote while working for newspapers in his late teens and 20s. There are proto-Discworld moments and flashes of the genius to come. Otherwise it’s a collection of pleasant and not particularly memorable short stories.
