Becoming by Michelle Obama

4.0

I consider myself an avid fiction reader. I don't normally read non fiction including Biographies. But I've read several biographies over the time. Since Becoming was published, I wanted to give it a try.

I'm not from USA. So I haven't had much access to Mrs. Obama's speeches etc. But I watched an episode of Ellen show where Michelle Obama was featured. Instantly I fell in love with her.

I started with the audiobook where she herself narrated the story. Her voice is soothing and tranquilizing. I enjoyed the first few chapters of the audiobook. But as it was so slow and I can read much faster, I returned to the ebook.

I enjoyed the book very much. Michelle Obama had to struggle in becoming who she is today. Not in the traditional sense of struggling but in a certain way that it was hard. She had to choose, to campaign, to speak up and most importantly to be a mother in spite of the public life she had to live.

Her story is told in a graceful and polite manner. There was decorum in her conduct. The story is very inspiring to the modern women, who undergo many struggles in their day to day life.

I'm glad I finally read it. And I recommend this to every women who needs an uplift and sincere story to motivate themselves.
