Oh as one of the final audiobooks I listened to in 2023, this really did go out with a bang! My ears could not believe it the moment I heard David Tennant narrating his character from the TV show Crowley, and Michael Sheen narrating Aziraphale.

This book had everything: comedy, chemistry, suspense and drama! The audiobook cast narrative really made the story come to life and I’m so happy I got to experience it this way for the first time. I will definitely be adding my own physical copy to my library…and I have officially become a Neil Gaiman girlie.

The storyline was so captivating, and really brought to debate the line of separation between good and evil, and how truly blurry that line really is. I love all things heaven, hell, angels and demons, particularly when executed in such an exquisite way. The friendship that develops over the centuries between Aziraphale and Crowley was truly one of a kind, with Michael and David truly bringing the characters to life.  I was rooting for their friendship throughout the book.

The side characters of the book were also very well developed and truly added to the storyline, and brought it to life even more. There is a skill in making side characters be so relevant and likable within their short segments.

I would sell my soul to listen to this book again for the first time.
