Devolution: A Firsthand Account of the Rainier Sasquatch Massacre by Max Brooks

5.0

“Knowing you saw something is different from knowing what you saw.”

I am absolutely baffled that I’m giving five stars to a book about Bigfoot but here we are. From the second I picked this up, I was fascinated to finish this climb. And climb it did, to a gruesome, roaring climax. To the wheels fell off, to the very last sentence, I adored “Devolution.”

Like Chekov, Brooks shows you the gun and waits to fire it through the use of the back and forth, journalistic prose approach. Characters that you can really sink your teeth into and an impeccable story that cannot be beat, I cannot express how extraordinary this book is. A truly unique, instant monster classic.

5/5 I am so thoroughly WOWED by a book I thought was so SILLY
