Hunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton
2.0
challenging dark emotional sad tense medium-paced

So I really do not recommend this book if you have any trauma responses to violence against women or children in anyway. This book was almost entirely about being sex trafficked, the trauma that occurs when being sex trafficked, and the aftermath. I waffle on how I feel about the portrayal. of recovery post trafficking- some of it was very clearly researched but some of it was outlandish at least timeline wise and having worked with victims that can be fairly problemation. This book was just a damn sad mess for 90% of it. I did actually shed a tear for our FMC which did not happen in the  first book. All I can say after reading this duet is I was glad to see what the hype was about as a nosy person but I wouldn't send someone I liked down the road of this reading material unless you want to read horror erotica with a lot of SA and mental health issues. I would have given less than 2 stars if they had ignored the mental health ramifications of all that trauma.

After those 2 books alI can say is the best thing to come from them is SIbby and I will remain team Sibby and her Henchmen. I'd be her best friend.

Sibby pops her head through the seats, swiveling her head back and forth between us.
Sibby: "My henchmen are already uncomfortable back here as it is,"
she says, giving us an evil eye.
Sibby: "If you're going to be doing dirty things, make sure all of us can join in."
Addie covers her red face.
Adeline: "Oh, my God, Sibby. First off, we're not doing anything. Secondly, even if we were, you would not be joining us."
Sibby appears affronted by that news as I take another sharp turn. Jay tells me to turn left a second later, sending the car careening to the side again.
Sibby: "Well, that's not very nice,"
