The main character is molested at the start of the book when she is 10 years old. We then spend a large portion of the book engaged in scenes where the now-adult-main-character is allowing her 4-10 year old daughters to interact with, play with, sleep over in the same house with that childhood abuser. the abuser never molests the main character's children and seems to have only victimized the main character in this way These scenes were very intense for me even though nothing triggering was happening on screen.
