As an exvangelical, I freaking loved Thronos. The whole book had me rooting for him, like “come on, once you get over these hangups life will be fucking awesome.” I love a childhood friends to enemies to lovers, and this delivered in spades. The ending did really cement my dislike of Sabine; poor Lanthe really deserved better from her sister.
