A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
5.0
WHY, oh WHY did I wait so long to start reading these novels?!?
I understand now why critics name Martin as the present day and age Tolkien, because the amount of detail put into the world of A Game of Thrones is remarkable.
This may change but most characters are irredeemably terrible and I find that the only pure character is Hodor. I found myself trying to blast through the Sansa chapters, as she seems whiny and flat as a character. Tyrion chapters are always a blast to read, as it is hard to not imagine the sass portrayed by Peter Dinklage in the television series.
If you are a fan of fantasy epics, such as The Lord of the Rings , I definitely recommend The Game of Thrones series. Here's to the next book!
