Stay Up with Hugo Best by Erin Somers

1.0

I liked the idea of the story: an aspiring comedy writer gets taken under the wing of a famous TV icon, maybe we see a soft side of him the media doesn’t portray, maybe a sweet unexpected friendship blooms. But I was confused by June and Hugo’s relationship from the get-go and only felt more lost as the story progressed. The characters’ conversations were strange and wordy… Frankly, nothing really happened besides a fun few hours at a bar and weird sexual tension between 29yo June and both a 17 year old and a 65 year old…Which leads me to say this book contained one of the most ~cringe~ sex scenes I’ve ever read.
