The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

5.0

This deserves all the praise it gets. I have seen this book in the videos of so many booktubers and it intrigued me how all these people, with their different tastes in reading, all seemed to love it so much.
It began smooth and the storytelling was precise yet not rushed. No part of it was boring or unnecessary. The second half was more interesting part of the character arcs. And the end, it came, just like that. God did it have to be so heartbreaking. They just had to keep piling it up when I was barely controlling my tears from the first wave.
I am not willing to forgive anyone who does not give this book the chance it deserves because they don't know all the things about Greek mythology by heart. Suck it up. Kings, kingdoms, prince and Gods. How hard is that?
Only problem I would find with this book is some of the wordings to be too modern. But I guess more complex vocabulary would have just made it an irritating read. The biggest grievance I will show is towards the glossary. How do you put the climax of the book in the beginning of the glossary, how? I find out that there is a glossary after finishing chapter seventeen and think this will be helpful. It was not!
Go for it. :)
