The Bomber Mafia: A Dream, a Temptation, and the Longest Night of the Second World War by Malcolm Gladwell

adventurous informative reflective fast-paced

4.0

This book covers the history of airpower and explores the relative effectiveness of air power used to support ground troops vs air power as a separate paradigm for neutralizing high value targets behind enemy lines. Gladwell doesn't come to any conclusions, but it is a good read and gives you an understanding of a key pillar of the air forces founding ethos. One thing I really enjoyed about this book is that it was first created as an audiobook and only later converted into a traditional book. If you're an audiobook reader you'll really appreciate the productions value and the intentionality of the audio version.
