Sense and Sensibility by Kate Hamill
5.0
I am OBSESSED. I've seen the Bedlam production three times (and planning a fourth before it closes) and have read this through probably a half dozen times and it never gets less wonderful. Reading it does not perhaps betray the absolutely bonkers nature of the production, but it does allow us new delights in the hilarious overlapping text and it's so easy to imagine a thousand different ways to stage it. This is a perfect adaptation and Kate Hamill should adapt every classic novel for the stage with as much zing as she does here.
