This is a short novella that introduces us to what Wardens are and their purpose is. Wardens are these Gargoyle like creatures that hunt demons. It serves as a prequel to White Hot Kiss since it introduces characters we'll be seeing in the series, however this novella is strictly about Dez and Jasmine. I honestly didn't see the point in this story. I didn't even enjoy Dez or Jasmine as characters. They were pretty two dimensional and there are so many better JLA books with much better characters. I've only finished the Dark Elements series and haven't started The Harbinger series so I don't really know how much of a must read this novella is. I don't think I'll read The Harbinger series and this book didn't really add anything to Dark Elements so it's possibly skippable.
