The Romance Recipe by Ruby Barrett

Boring and cliched. I had the hardest time getting into this book. The two main characters were too similar to do a dual POV (especially a dual first person POV) and so much of their relationship felt rushed. I also generally don't enjoy plots revolving around miscommunication, and that seemed to be the majority of this book. Amy in particular was so extraordinarily frustrating about it. It's weird, but the set up to the book made it seem like it would be an enemies-to-lovers slowburn situation but it was more of a crushes-to-lovers with a half-hearted attempt at a slowburn that went out the window three chapters in.

It also doesn't feel like much of the conflict with the restaurant was really resolved - how much was Sophie making that simply one person taking a pay cut was able to save the restaurant? What menu did they eventually settle on? How does Sophie's minority ownership of the restaurant actually affect the operations of the restaurant?

Just not very enjoyable.
