Eight years ago, Monroe saw the girl he had a crush on at the soap store in his small town, his best friend's sister, and decided to take a chance, only for a week since he was moving to New York for his residency. Now, living in San Francisco, a divorcé, and co-host of a podcast about breakups and matchmaking with the same girl, Monroe finds himself holding on to the temptation. But what wasn’t in their plans was a generous gift from a listener who found love again because of them. Now they have an opportunity to try again, with a new house in the same city where they were together the first time.
Juliet was always optimistic about love. Even with her business being a breakup party planner, she was always open to meeting and giving someone a chance. With this new house and in a different city, she receives a proposition that surprises her. Her co-host, ex-fling, and her brother’s best friend will be her dating coach, taking her on three dates, but with him, and only him. I guess they are going down memory lane.
This book was SO FUN! I loved how the characters interacted; their banter was on point. Monroe was very sneaky in trying to date but not date Juliet. I liked the pace, and you can’t go wrong with pretending to date—or in this case, experimenting with dating without feelings involved. But the feelings were there, and I loved seeing them!
