Witchcraft: The Gay Counterculture by Arthur Evans

4.0

A really great dive into the world’s history through a queer lens. I learned many things I would’ve have known otherwise, like the origin of Satan’s image and the mysticism of queer shamans. It kinda falls apart in the last two chapters though, becoming less of a history lesson and morphing into a general call to action to destroy patriarchy. This is fine, but it definitely felt like a tonal shift to me.
