The books had very slow development and much of the story is centered around the relationships of the characters instead of the plot itself, which made it a bit boring to read since I thought I had signed up for a murder mystery and not a
divorce and cheating circle
. I’m not a big mystery reader so maybe this is just a format I’m not used to. The last 3rd of the story held almost all of the progress of the book making the first 2/3 feel like a drag. Due to it being adapted into a movie I had very high hopes but instead it made me realize mystery stories are probably not for me.
